Detecting chronic kidney disease

If you have one or more risk factors for chronic kidney disease, then recommended to do kidney health check

  1. Check urine for albumin. Specially urine for protein creatinine ratio
  2. Check serum creatinine and measure GFR ( glomerular filtration rate)
  3. A blood pressure test, as kidney disease causes high blood pressure and high blood pressure causes kidney disease.

Following your Kidney Health Check and depending on your circumstances, other tests and procedures may be required.

These tests may be carried out by local doctor or may be referred to a kidney specialist (nephrologist).
